About Us
Active Minds at Hopkins is dedicated to stopping suicide before it happens at The Johns Hopkins University through education, outreach, and the creation of a campus environment that supports those with mental, behavioral, and substance use concerns and encourages them to seek help. Chapter activities focus on prevention and early intervention while also acknowledging that work must be done during and after a mental, behavioral, or substance use crisis to foster a safe and supportive environment for all students. Active Minds at Hopkins does not provide direct peer support or other therapeutic services; instead, the chapter focuses on ensuring that students feel empowered in discussing their mental and behavioral health and have the skills necessary to support themselves and others and advocate for institutional- and community-level change.
