Flu Vaccine Reminder

This is a reminder that all students must have an updated flu vaccine no later than November 15 in order to register for Spring courses. You can find information about Johns Hopkins flu clinics at this site.   
Alumni Association Grant
The Alumni Association is awarding $64,500 in grants to student organizations. Each organization can apply for multiple grants of up to $1,500 each for different projects.
 Do not miss out on this opportunity to receive vital funding for your student organization. Applications are open and are due by October 13th

Gender Affirming Closet
The Gender Affirming Closet is a free resource to all gender expansive Hopkins affiliates to explore, envision, empower, and express themselves in a safe and supportive space! Stocked with clothing, accessories, and affirm-wear, the GAC creates the opportunity to explore gender identity and expression in a safe and supportive space.

We have some exciting updates on the way that require regular GAC hours to be suspended. In the meantime, email us at gsr@jh.edu to set up a personal appointment! Find more information here. 
Update from Career and Life Design

As we approach the end of the Fall-1, we know that many of you are deep into finals, preparing for the next semester, and juggling the demands of work, family, and personal life. It’s understandable that this time can feel overwhelming! 

To help you navigate this busy season, we at Career & Life Design invite you to take a brief break for yourself. Just 10-15 minutes this week can make a difference! We encourage you to find a comfortable spot and conduct a self-care checkup. 

We recommend using the Self-Care Checkup from PositivePsychology.com, which prompts you to reflect on your self-care practices across five important life domains: 

Emotional: How are you processing your feelings and managing stress? 
Physical: Are you taking care of your body and getting enough rest? 
Social: Do you have a support system, and are you nurturing those connections? 
Professional: Are you setting boundaries and finding fulfillment in your work? 
Spiritual: Are you taking time to reflect on your values and purpose? 

This checkup is a great way to assess where you stand and identify areas for improvement. Remember, self-care isn’t selfish; it’s essential for your well-being and success!

Relentless Advancement

Transportation options

This is a reminder that, as a Carey student, you have several free transportation options available to you. Be sure to check the shuttle website for up-to-dates schedules. 

Harbor East students: 
  • There is a regular shuttle from the Homewood campus around class times - the Homewood–Carey Business School Express Shuttle (with stops at the Pava Center for Entrepreneurship) 
  • The East Baltimore Blue Jay Shuttle is a shuttle service that provides convenient commuting trips to and from the East Baltimore campus, including the Carey Business School and Peabody. The shuttle offers a free service to all Johns Hopkins affiliates to and from their residences and the campuses within the service area. The Blue Jay Shuttle operates in an area proximate to the East Baltimore campus daily from 5 a.m. – 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. – 12 a.m.  
DC students: 
  • There is a free JHU shuttle from all surrounding Metro stations to the Hopkins Bloomberg Center. 
  • DC students also have the UPass Metro card that covers transportation on the Metro.
