The Anna Baetjer Society for Public Health Practice is a group that helps MPH students at the Bloomberg School translate their educational experiences into public health practice outside of the classroom. Anna M. Baetjer was a pioneer in the fields of occupational health and industrial hygiene and is remembered by the Johns Hopkins community as a great teacher whose counsel and guidance influenced many lives and careers.

The ASEAN Student Nexus (ASN) will be a school-wide student group founded to strengthen regional ties in the public health sphere, as well as cultivate cross-cultural exchange among those interested in Southeast Asian culture. This includes countries that belong to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), namely 10 member states Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei Darussalam, Vietnam, Lao PDR, Myanmar, and Cambodia.

Our mission is to facilitate cross-cultural networking, and increase ASEAN presence in the community.

The Black Graduate Student Association (BGSA) at The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School Of Public Health dedicates itself to the enhancement of the graduate experience and professional development for African-American students.

These efforts extend across the entire spectrum of the graduate experience. This experience includes but is not limited to: facilitating the transition from undergraduate to Graduate School, providing academic support, and providing opportunities for fellowship. The Environmental Health and Engineering Student Organization facilitates social, intellectual, and service-oriented interaction between students, staff, and faculty of the Department of Environmental Health and Engineering.

This will be accomplished by planning social events, planning seminars for students to learn about resources available here at Hopkins and to develop professional skills, and advocating for student interests with representation on departmental and school-wide committees such as the Educational Programming Committee, Practice and Policy Committee, Research Committee, Graduate Representative Organization (GRO), BSPH Student Assembly, Sustainability Leadership Council (SLC), Inclusion, Diversity, Anti-Racism, and Equity (IDARE) Committee, and JHU Doctoral Student Council.

We also organize volunteering events with community partners such as Gunpowder Valley Conservancy, Blue Water Baltimore, Bethel Farms, and others to give back to Baltimore City!

The purpose of this organization is to destigmatize food insecurity and support Bloomberg School of Public Health (BSPH) Graduate students by connecting them with resources to help meet their basic needs to foster an academically enriching environment.

Section 1. All BSPH students and postdoctoral fellows are eligible for membership without regard to age, ethnicity, gender, disability, color, national origin, race, religion, sexual orientation, or veteran status. Active membership shall be determined by active participation in meetings and events. Membership applications are granted through Hopkins Groups.

The Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Journal Club and communications aim to create awareness about current issues, research, opportunities, and initiatives toward addressing GBV, and to foster opportunities for JHU students, staff, and faculty to dialogue about current issues in the field. The group is housed at JHSPH, and welcomes students, staff, faculty, and alumni across JHU.
