About Us
Music is a powerful mode of expression that serves as an outlet in times of stress, joy, and any other emotion. Beyond serving as a hobby, studying an instrument allows the student to practice important life skills, such as commitment and self-discipline. Thinking in terms of music helps expand one's current frame of mind, which promotes open-mindedness and new ways of seeing the world that may be applicable to many school subjects such as math and science. Encore offers music lessons to students at schools in the Baltimore area. Lessons are provided on a voluntary basis, and they range from group instruction to private lessons. We seek to cultivate camaraderie with the students we serve as we introduce them to music theory and a variety of instruments.  For many of our students, EMP's various programs are the only musical instruction they will receive.
