Join us for a discussion about Katie Harbath's new book, Disrupting Politics, where she shares hard-earned wisdom from her experience.

Join us for a discussion about Katie Harbath's new book, Disrupting Politics, in which she shares hard-earned wisdom from two decades inside the tension between technology and democracy. From helping invent digital campaign tactics to shaping global elections as a Facebook executive, Katie will explore the defining moments that reshaped the relationship between platforms and politics—including the 2016 election, the dismantling of platform integrity teams, and the realities of governing speech online. The event will feature a fireside chat moderated by Emerging Technologies Initiative Director Olga Belogolova.

Katie Harbath is the founder of Anchor Change, a consultancy advising companies, civil society organizations, and policymakers on issues related to technology and democracy. A Green Bay, Wisconsin native, she writes the Anchor Change newsletter, read by thousands of leaders and policymakers worldwide, and is a regular voice on elections, AI, and platform accountability. Previously, Katie spent a decade running Facebook's global elections program and has been deeply involved in building digital political infrastructure since the early years of the internet. Her philosophy when navigating the intersection of technology and democracy is to "panic responsibly"—taking the risks seriously without letting fear paralyze the work.
