Mission HISA aims to unite Johns Hopkins affiliates who have expressed interest in Hawaiian culture and or have ties to the Hawaiian Islands. The organization plans to contribute to the multicultural student body through means of sharing different Hawaiian traditions for all of Johns Hopkins to partake in. Furthermore, HISA aims to provide awareness of culturally relevant events and dilemmas through the form of educational platforms and summits.
Membership BenefitsAll members will receive access to HISA's learning resources such as books, documentaries, online courses, and language materials that help you deepen your understanding of Hawaii. Depending on the club's scope, there might be travel opportunities to visit Hawaii or attend events related to Hawaiian culture. Many clubs organize or participate in cultural performances, festivals, and exhibitions. As a member, you will have the chance to showcase your talents and participate in these events. Membership in HISA often provides you with a deeper understanding of Hawaiian culture, traditions, history, and language. Members are able to participate in events, workshops, and discussions that explore these aspects of Hawaii.
