With the Presidential Elections on the horizon, and the Maryland Primary Elections underway, Hopkins Votes urges you to be a part of the democratic process! It's important that you're aware of the priority deadlines for voting in Maryland, and resources to help you get ready. Here's what you need to know:
Voter Registration:
- Online Registration: Start your voter registration process on Maryland’s election website, or via Turbovote! The deadline for online registration is 21 days before Election Day.
- Mail-in Registration: You can also register to vote by mail or in person through Maryland’s election website. For mail-in registration, ensure it's postmarked 21 days before Election Day.
- If you are a Maryland resident, you can also register to vote or update your address onsite during early voting or election day! Here are your options for as early as the Maryland Primary Elections we’re currently in:
- Registering during Early Voting: Go to an early voting center in the county where you live, and bring a document that proves where you live. This document can be your MVA-issued license, permit, ID card, or change of address card, or your paycheck, bank statement, utility bill, or other government document with your name and new address.
- Registering on Election Day: Go to the polling place assigned for your residence, and bring a document that proves where you live. You can find your polling place here. The document can be your MVA-issued license, permit, ID card, or change of address card, or your paycheck, bank statement, utility bill, or other government document with your name and new address.
- Updating Your Address During Early Voting or Election Day: Go to the polling place assigned for your new address. You can find your polling place here. At your polling place, you will provide your new address, vote a provisional ballot, and election officials will update your address and count your provisional ballot.
