Mission
One of our main missions is to assist the Hopkins community in meeting the recommendations of the Mental Health Task Force recommendations. As listed in sections 1.d and 3c, students need more access to information about the mental health services on campus. Therefore, we focus to increase campus awareness on the presence of APTT and highlight the impact of mental health on academic performance and overall well-being of students. We plan on accomplishing this through an extensive use of advertising campaigns and public relations events. We also hope to improve group cohesion through increased amounts of bonding events.

A Place to Talk (APTT) is the student-to-student peer listening group for the Hopkins community. APTT was founded in 1983 to provide support and excellence in peer listening to the Johns Hopkins community in an empathetic, reliable, and responsible manner. We seek to train members and non-members to be effective peer listeners in order to offer an environment on the JHU campus for anyone to discuss anything; from everyday frustrations to serious concerns. Our programming is centered around recruiting and training new members, staffing our rooms, maintaining group cohesion and communication, increasing the awareness of APTT services around campus, and training other student organizations in attentive listening skills. As of right now, our club’s plan for functioning during the Fall 2021 semester is to maintain and operate two peer-listening rooms, one in Brody Learning Commons (BLC) 4010 and one in AMR I.

Mission
Our mission as a student group is to provide health advocacy to the surrounding Baltimore community and offer assistance to Baltimore clinics and nonprofits in achieving their respective goals of delivering accessible healthcare, promoting healthy living, and alleviating human suffering.

Among other activities, we participate in monthly trips to the local farmer’s market, in which members assemble pertinent health information, preventative care tips, and free resources like brochures and present them to the community. On top of that, our members volunteer at clinics that offer free or reduced services to patients who are uninsured or underinsured. Finally, we engage in community service that aims to aid those in need throughout the Baltimore community.

Members have to opportunity to venture outside the classroom and into the Baltimore community to do meaningful volunteer work with a group of students who are all passionate about community health. Members receive information about clinical/shadowing experiences near Hopkins and also have access to leadership opportunities within the club.

Mission
We deal specifically with issues related to disabilities, including providing support and advocacy for all students who are affected by a disability. Our mission is to provide an approachable, cohesive, and inclusive group that supports students with disabilities by reducing stigma, providing education and awareness, and promoting a more positive image of disability at Johns Hopkins University. We also do outreach in the Baltimore community, bringing awareness and service to others dealing with disability.

To fight reproductive healthcare barriers on campus and in Baltimore and engage in the movement of actively shaping a world where full access to reproductive health care is a global lived reality for all, regardless of gender, race, or sexual orientation. ARSH supports full access to comprehensive reproductive and complementary health care services in settings that preserve and protect the essential privacy and rights of each individual; advocates public policies that guarantee these rights and ensure access to such services; and supports access to medically accurate educational programs that enhance understanding of human sexuality.

The Africa Business Club is a student led organization at the Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School which was founded to provide a platform for students and professionals interested in Africa to collaborate and contribute to the development of the continent.

We aim to be the premier student organization within Johns Hopkins for business in Africa. The Africa Business Club exists to champion business and career opportunities in Africa across the Johns Hopkins University. Its activities are professional, educational, and social in nature, and are open to all members of Johns Hopkins Community. The African Students Association (ASA) of Johns Hopkins University comprises a group of students of African and non-African descent dedicated to the education of the Hopkins community at large of the different cultures that comprise the African continent. ASA also provides a network of support for African students at Johns Hopkins and serves as a source of information for any member of the Johns Hopkins University community interested in learning about Africa. Agara Bio fosters collaborative, hands-on learning in biology, synthetic biology, and biotechnology by engaging students in casual, skills-based workshops and community projects. We run a community biology lab, open to all Hopkins undergraduates, on the Homewood campus.

Alpha Epsilon Delta is the world's largest health pre-professional honor society with more than 144 thousand members and 186 chapters. The Johns Hopkins Maryland Alpha Chapter of the society is involved with both the local Baltimore community as well as with Hopkins students to promote the pursuit of careers in healthcare.

We organize events ranging from lectures with guest speakers from across the Johns Hopkins Institutions, to special activities with medical students, to workshops on the medical school admissions process, as well as community service events at the medical campus and in the Baltimore community. The main event that we organize is the Conversations in Medicine Lecture Series that is open to the entire Hopkins community, which takes place throughout the year. The society generally admits rising juniors and seniors who are interested in the medical profession. Members are unique and accomplished in academics, research, community service, and other extra-curricular activities.

Alpha Phi is an international organization of women dedicated to fostering an environment of female leadership and support. We take to heart and follow our values of sisterhood, generosity, character and innovation, both in our organization and within the JHU community. We are devoted to our philanthropy, the Alpha Phi Foundation, raising money and educating the general public about the severity of women’s cardiac health. We pride ourselves on having a community of women who are leaders inside and outside the classroom, who help to create a home away from home for the members of our organization.

Our organization offers many opportunities for women to take on leadership roles. The chapter is run by an executive board, comprised of all undergraduate women who are in charge of organizing and creating content for Alpha Phi. These board members are able to attend an annual leadership conference, where they can meet and learn from other Alpha Phi sisters across the world! Once a week, members can expect to attend a meeting for updates on the chapter’s upcoming and current events. They will also hear from guest speakers who vary from present chapter members to highly esteemed alumnae to other groups on campus. These speakers educate members on issues such as women in the workforce, sexual assault awareness, mental health awareness, and personal anecdotes about their other campus involvements. This is more than an organization. It is a sisterhood which encourages support of one another through the good times and the bad, whether helping one another with academics or providing much needed support during a rough time.

The Alpha Phi Omega, Kappa Mu Chapter has been striving for excellent service since its 1998 rechartering at Johns Hopkins University. Kappa Mu’s impact in Baltimore is astounding; collectively, we perform over 5000 hours of community service per semester. Our service is spread out over various types of projects including helping out at soup kitchens, repairing homes, and teaching English to the Spanish-speaking community.



While service is an integral part of Alpha Phi Omega, we also encourage friendship among the chapter and leadership attained through internal and external activities. As such, in addition to performing community service, our Brothers attend many fellowship events and seek leadership both on campus and in the greater community.

Mission Statement: We are a coalition of engineers, scientists, policy makers, public health advocates, entrepreneurs, writers, and other young professionals who aim to develop technological frameworks by which to enable nutritious, sustainable, equitable and ethical food systems. Our diverse, interdisciplinary academic community strives to disrupt current food systems by advancing alternative protein technology through education, research, and entrepreneurship. Alternative proteins include meat, fish, dairy, and eggs made using plant-based, fermentation-derived, and/or lab-grown ingredients that obviate the need for traditional animal agriculture.

The American Mock World Health Organization chapter at Johns Hopkins University leads annual simulation conferences where delegates are invited to assume the roles of global leaders in addressing today’s most pertinent global health issues. We provide opportunities for students to develop leadership abilities, sharpen public speaking skills, understand real-world policy applications through the lens of their respective roles. The chapter also recruits for and attends the National AMWHO conference as a delegation.

AMWHO is modeled after the Ontario and Montreal World Health Organization conferences set in Canada, and the primary focus of all three is to raise student awareness of pertinent health issues facing the world today, as well as to promote understanding of the many roles students can engage in through global health policy. The conference hopes to establish an environment similar to that of the World Health Organization’s Assembly, and educate future global health leaders in the proceedings of international health entities. Furthermore, AMWHO aims to nurture an interest in global health and health policy that is often neglected in a standard health education curriculum. Students will receive the opportunity to sharpen their diplomacy skills, as well as increase their ability to engage in problem solving, conflict resolution, and communication skills.

The American Red Cross JHU chapter is an active volunteer organization that works under the broader American Red Cross Central Maryland Chapter and the Center for Social Concern at the Johns Hopkins University. We aim to extend the services of the American Red Cross on our campus and in the local community by providing regular blood drives, disaster action services, CPR and First AID classes, and domestic and international relief awareness. We also organize community service events in the Baltimore community and take part in the Red Cross's Homefire Campaign and Vaccinate a Village initative.

The Animation Club (JHAC) is a Class A group under the Johns Hopkins University Student Activities Commission (JHU SAC) Office of Recreation and Hobbies. Our mission is to provide and promote animation within the Johns Hopkins community.
To this end, we conduct regular, weekly showings during the academic year that are open to the public at large. We also organize annual convention trips.
JHAC is committed to playing an active role in the anime community at large. Collaboration and cooperation with other clubs, the industry, and the media are all important to JHAC.

The Anna Baetjer Society for Public Health Practice is a group that helps MPH students at the Bloomberg School translate their educational experiences into public health practice outside of the classroom. Anna M. Baetjer was a pioneer in the fields of occupational health and industrial hygiene and is remembered by the Johns Hopkins community as a great teacher whose counsel and guidance influenced many lives and careers.
