Leadership Weekend Application Deadline Extended!

Hey Blue Jays!

Student Leadership and Involvement, in partnership with the Center for Social Concern and Office of Multicultural Affairs, is excited to launch a new student leadership experience, Leadership Weekend, on April 2nd and 3rd.  Leadership Weekend is sponsored by the Leading Social Change Fund.

Leadership Weekend seeks to:

  • Engage 49 undergraduate students in leadership learning;
  • Enhance participants' leadership identity and leadership capacity; and
  • Encourage participants to approach leadership as a purposeful, collaborative, and values-based process that results in positive social change.
Leadership Weekend curriculum focuses on:
  • Awareness and recognition of individual strengths and the ways they contribute to the leadership process.
  • Acknowledgment and celebration of participants' capacity to change systems and lead the change they wish to see in the world.
  • Naming and understanding participants’ current leadership context and how to make a plan for continued learning and development.
The Leadership Weekend committee invites all students to apply if they believe they will benefit from this experience.

Applications are due Friday, March 12, 11:59 pm local time.

Undergraduate Admissions
Virtual Student Fair for Class of 2025

Dear Student Org Leaders,

In a few weeks, we will be welcoming newly admitted students to join the Class of 2025. They will join the existing previously admitted Early Decision students as future potential members of the Hopkins community.

We need your help in showing these students all that Hopkins has to offer and beginning their integration into our student life. As such, on Saturday, April 10 we will be holding a virtual student club fair. We welcome all student organizations to join, interact with admitted students, and advertise their group. Since a portion of these students have already committed to joining Hopkins in the fall, this is a great place to begin the process of recruiting prior to the fall Student Involvement Fair!

The fair will work similarly to SIF, utilizing the Campus Groups system. If you would like to participate, please set up your booth and activate it by Wednesday, March 17. To set up the fair, go to your group’s dashboard, then more tools > virtual fairs > booth settings. Then you will be able to add content to allow our admitted students to get to know your organization. You can also duplicate your booth from fall 2020 or spring 2021 SIF to make this process easier. Please see this video for more information about booth setup.

The fair will be active all day on Saturday, April 10 allowing students to visit your booth at their leisure. In addition, from 2-4 pm EST we ask, if possible, to have a live Zoom from all participating groups (place the link in the booth settings on Campus Groups) to allow admitted students to chat and get to know more about your organization. This is an ideal time for admitted students to meet current Blue Jays, get more personalized information, and learn about your organization. If you are unable to host a live meeting during this time, please let us know! The chat feature (either group chat or 1-on-1 chat) will be enabled during the remainder of the event for admitted students to interact with group members so please plan for responding to messages.

Thank you in advance. Please reach out to James Morrison (jmorri97@jhu.edu ) or Elena Taylor  if you have any questions regarding the upcoming fair, and we look forward to seeing you all there!

Best,

Office of Undergraduate Admissions
