About Us
The Military Medicine Interest Group (MIG) at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is a student-led organization dedicated to advocating for the well-being of military personnel, veterans, and their families, as well as fostering mentorship opportunities for students interested in understanding the intersection of healthcare and military service. MIG provides a platform for students of all backgrounds to engage in advocacy work related to military health issues, such as access to care, mental health, and the unique challenges faced by service members. The group organizes mentorship programs, connecting students with military healthcare professionals, veterans, and alumni who offer guidance and support in navigating both the medical field and military-related career paths. Through advocacy campaigns, community outreach, and educational events, MIG works to raise awareness about the healthcare needs of military populations and helps students gain a broader perspective on the role of medicine in service. Whether a student is pursuing military service or simply passionate about supporting those who serve, MIG provides opportunities for growth, connection, and meaningful impact. We welcome participation from all interested JHSOM students, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or any other identity.
