NATO Symphony Orchestra
The American Pops Orchestra is seeking student instrumentalists to audition to join the NATO Symphony Orchestra celebrating the 75th anniversary of NATO at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC.
We are thrilled to announce this first-of-its-kind inaugural event featuring a one-time-only, hour-long program of classical and popular repertoire played by an orchestra of students from NATO member countries. This concert will be led by our founder and music director, Luke Frazier, alongside members of the American Pops Orchestra and feature celebrity guest artists, to an audience of the diplomatic community (both foreign and domestic). There will be a post-performance VIP reception.
Paid Opportunity:
- All participating students will receive an honorarium, as well as travel and housing accommodations
Dates:
July 7th (arrival) - July 12th (departure)
- Rehearsals: July 7th (evening), July 8th, and July 9th (Washington, DC location TBD)
- Performance: July 11th (Library of Congress)

Eligibility Criteria:
- Students must currently be studying in the US and hail from a NATO member country, or be a first-generation American student of NATO country immigrants
NATO Countries outside of the United States, for your reference: Albania, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Montenegro, Netherlands, Kingdom of the Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, United Kingdom.
Instrumental Requirements:
We are seeking top student players of the following instruments: violin, viola, cello, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba, and auxiliary percussion (timpani).
Audition requirements:
-Submit a solo piece of your choice, with or without accompaniment
(Video not to exceed 3 minutes)
-Reference contact for your primary teacher
-Brief statement outlining why this experience would be meaningful to you
-List your home country (or the home country of your parents, if first generation)
