The semester is in full swing and we are so excited! Week of Welcome was a huge success, from Donuts in the Dining Hall to the aquarium trip to see the National Aquarium. Check out the Student Affairs Instagram later this week to see how much fun students had during the week! Keep reading to learn more about what's going on around campus this week.

International Student Essentials Sessions

For any international student who is new to Peabody, we encourage you to register for the Office of International Services (OIS) upcoming International Student Essentials Session. 

  

This session is designed to introduce the function of OIS, emphasize the main components of maintaining student visa status, and provide time for student questions. They are offering two sessions for students to choose from: 

 

September 4, 12:15pm - 1:15pm ET – Registration link 

September 5, 7:00pm - 8:00pm ET – Registration link

Required Trainings for First-Year Students: As a reminder to all new students who did not complete the required Opioid Awareness and/or the Sexual Misconduct Prevention trainings that were to be done before the start of the school year on your MyLearning- there will be a hold put on your SIS account after open enrollment for the Spring semester that will prevent you from changing, adding or dropping any class. Please finish these required trainings as soon as possible. You should have received an email informing you of the missing trainings, if you need further information.nt.

Peabody's Student Involvement Fair is Wednesday, Sept. 11th on the Plaza (Rain Location: Arcade) 12-1:30PM if your club wants to reserve a spot, please email Student Affairs, peabodystudentaffairs@jhu.edu, by Friday 9/6. Due to space limitations, we ask that clubs have no more than two representatives at their table. If your group is unable to be present during that time, you are still encouraged to provide materials!

Academic Calendar

  • September 6th- last day to add courses in SIS
  • September 13th- last day to drop courses in SIS
  • Last day to withdraw from any fall semester course is Nov. 11th.
  • Student course selection for the spring semester begins the week of November 14th.
  • Nov 21-25 is Thanksgiving Break.

Holiday Reminders

  • September 15th is Hispanic Heritage Month
