Mission The Pediatric Injury Prevention Group aims to: Foster Multidisciplinary Collaboration - create a vibrant community of students across all years and programs at Johns Hopkins who are passionate about pediatric injury prevention, promoting collaboration across medicine, public health, nursing, engineering, and related disciplines. Advance Research in Pediatric Injury Prevention - support student-led and faculty-mentored research initiatives that explore the causes, risk factors, and interventions for preventing injuries in children and adolescents, with a focus on equity and evidence-based practice. Promote Community Education and Advocacy - develop and implement educational programming and outreach effort - both on campus and in the broader Baltimore community - that raise awareness about injury risks and promote safety practices for children and families. Mentor and Inspire Future Leaders - provide mentorship opportunities and leadership development for students interested in pediatric emergency medicine, public health, and injury prevention, building a pipeline of future advocates and researchers in the field. Support Sustainable, Impact-Driven Projects - Launch and maintain longitudinal injury prevention projects that address pressing community needs - such as firearm safety, safe sleep, teen driving, and sports-related concussions - using measurable outcomes to guide improvement.
