D&I Club Updates 08/29

D&I X MASOS Happy Hour: Students & Alumni

The SAIS Defense and Intelligence Club and MASOS (Military Affiliated Students of SAIS) are excited to announce our first HAPPY HOUR of the year on Friday, September 5th from 5:00-7:00PM at Penn Social, located right around the corner from SAIS. Come meet other students and alumni interested in defense, intelligence, security, military affairs, etc., as well as the board members of both clubs. ALL SAIS students and alumni are welcome to join! Entry is free, and food and drinks will be available for purchase.

Additionally, Penn Social is hosting a line dancing, two-step, and country swing event from 8:30PM-12:30AM that same Friday. If anyone would like to stay for the event, Penn Social is offering free registration for the guest list for SAIS students and alumni. If interested, please reach out to MASOS' Veronica Marcone (vmarcon3@jh.edu) to let her know to add you to the list.

Join the D&I Executive Board

We are looking for a MASCI Representative and a First-Year Representative to join our board! Both applications are due by Friday, September 12th at 11:59PM. More information about the roles can be found in the application. 
 
MASCI Representative: The MASCI Representative fills an important role in connecting the D&I Club with the needs of the MASCI degree program, as well as in helping us tap into the network of smart, experienced, and connected people in MASCI: Application Link.

First-Year Representative: The First-Year Representative fills an important role in connecting the D&I Club with the needs of the Class of 2027, as well as in maintaining continuity and institutional knowledge for next year's board: Application Link.

Attend the Strat & Tech Open House

Many defense and intelligence related activites will be explained and advertised at next Wednesday's Strat & Tech Open House! 

When: Wednesday, September 3rd at 12:30PM
Where: The Link (Rooms 426/428/430), Hopkins Bloomberg Center

You will hear from the Focus Areas, Centers and Institutes, Faculty, and Student Clubs focusing on strategy, security, intelligence, and technology. You will also learn about all of the extracurricular activities available to you as a SAIS student interested in these topics, including the domestic and international staff rides.
