Seven months into the war, this panel steps back from daily developments to examine where the major stakeholders stand and where the conflict may be heading. Speakers will discuss Iran's choices, the security and economic pressures facing Gulf states, the outlook for U.S. foreign policy, and how disruption at the Strait of Hormuz could shape energy markets into 2027.
The panel features Ambassador Patrick Theros, former U.S. Ambassador to Qatar; Trita Parsi, Executive Vice President of the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft; Nader Hashemi, Associate Professor at Georgetown University; and Sanam Vakil, James Anderson Adjunct Professor at SAIS Europe and Director of Chatham House's Middle East and North Africa Programme. The discussion will be moderated by Dipali Mukhopadhyay, Jacob Blaustein Associate Professor in International Organizations and Conflict Resolution at Johns Hopkins SAIS.
