About Us
Mission Statement: We are a coalition of engineers, scientists, policy makers, public health advocates, entrepreneurs, writers, and other young professionals who aim to develop technological frameworks by which to enable nutritious, sustainable, equitable and ethical food systems. Our diverse, interdisciplinary academic community strives to disrupt current food systems by advancing alternative protein technology through education, research, and entrepreneurship. Alternative proteins include meat, fish, dairy, and eggs made using plant-based, fermentation-derived, and/or lab-grown ingredients that obviate the need for traditional animal agriculture.
