About Us

The Washington Metropolitan Area has the largest population of Ethiopians and Eritreans in the nation; however, these two groups are underrepresented on the Johns Hopkins University campus. Founded in 2010, EESA seeks to bridge the gap between the strong local Ethiopian and Eritrean community and the JHU community. Through cultural awareness, education, service, and camaraderie, EESA aims to provide a safe haven for its members as well as JHU students interested in learning about the culture.
