Hopkins Community Connection Summer Internship Application now Open!
Hopkins Community Connection (HCC) is taking paid internship applications for five clinical sites for the Summer! If you're interested in making a meaningful impact in the Baltimore community by addressing the social determinants of health, consider applying! We are currently looking for fluent English and Spanish speakers! Applications are open through 3/12/23.
The HCC Summer Internship is a 15 to 20-hour-per-week commitment, in which the intern will gain experience working with patients and families at one of five clinic resources desks, connecting patients and families to community resources (housing, food, health, insurance, transportation, and more), and following up on a regular basis to address any potential barriers. Interns will also meet every two (2) weeks in a Professional Development session where they will discuss their experience working with their clients and their own personal development. In addition, summer interns will contribute to clinic and community initiatives that will improve and enhance the HCC program, while enriching their own knowledge of healthcare topics.
The fellowship will run from May 20th - August 25th and fellows are required to work a minimum of 11 weeks unless granted an exception by the HCC Program Manager. Summer interns are expected to continue in their position for the fall 2023 semester for 6hrs/week (volunteer and limited paid positions available for fall/spring semesters)
The application can be found on SMILE here and more information about our program can be found on our website here.
