About Us

Relaunched in 2025 after a 13-year hiatus, the Hopkins Medical Orchestra (HMO) is a student-led, non-audition, inclusive community symphonic orchestra producing four free concerts per year, with an artistic direction exploring the intersection of music, medicine, and science. HMO has a growing membership of over 80 musicians encompassing medical practitioners, faculty, staff, students, and community members across the Johns Hopkins East Baltimore campus, along with strong engagement from the wider Hopkins and Baltimore community, with over 500 audience members attending HMO concerts in 2025. We welcome participation from all interested JHSOM students, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or any other identity
