About Us
NAB aims to address the social isolation experienced by AlzheimerÔÇÖs through forming student-patient relationships. By pairing student volunteers 1-to-1 with dementia residents we not only hope to make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents and their families but also to develop a stronger understanding of their personal identity, build new social skills, and make new friends. At Hopkins, we want to leverage Hopkins clinical and public health expertise to educate and spread awareness about inequalities surrounding AD. Our group invites guest speakers from the Johns Hopkins Hospital and School of Public Health who share their clinical and academic insights. Within NAB, there will be monthly journal clubs to discuss racial disparities encompassing AD to further educate ourselves on social and racial injustices.
