We’re excited to kick off the semester and dive into all the fun, meaningful storytelling experiences we have planned over the next few months.
๐ General Body Meetings
All Spring general body meetings are now live on Hopkins Groups. If you’re new to StoryLab, you’ll quickly learn that we have a strong love for Thursdays.
Our meetings are tentatively scheduled for the last Thursday of each month, from 6:00–7:00 PM EST, January through April:
As a heads-up (and to loop everyone in early), this Spring semester will be Matt and Ju’s final semester at Johns Hopkins. With that, during our April general body meeting, we’ll hold elections and transition leadership to the next team of storytellers. More details to come, but if you’re even remotely curious about stepping into a leadership role, keep this on your radar!
๐ค The Moth Workshop – February 19 (Tentative and Awaiting Approval)
We’ve mentioned it a few times, but all the wheels are officially in motion for our The Moth storytelling workshop on Thursday, February 19, from 6:00–8:00 PM (yes, another Thursday ๐).
We’re currently waiting on two approvals:
Final approval for the event to go live on the Hopkins Groups
Approval from the Finance department (the longer 4–6 week process)
Once the event is live, please keep an eye on Hopkins Groups.
Capacity will be capped at 50 participants
The event is open to all AAP students
We’d love for StoryLab members to register early to secure first dibs and help support the funding process. While the event is still in the approval stage and registration may not yet be active, you can find the registration link here and check back once it goes live.
Additional resources shared by Gill Henneberry can be found below. These resources come from the Greater Good Science Center newsletter!
Thank you, Gill, for sharing these! We hope they support and inspire your storytelling practice this semester.
โจ A Final Thought
As we move through the Spring semester, we hope you’ll take time to notice moments that speak to you, moments worth holding onto, shaping, and someday sharing. Those reflections are often where our strongest stories begin.
We’re so glad you’re here and can’t wait to see you this semester. — Matt & Ju
