Welcome back to the Peabody Campus Buzz. Course registration for Spring 2023 is this week and break is just around the corner! Read on to find out more about what is going on in our community this week.

Thanksgiving Housing Registration

We are asking that anyone choosing to remain in the halls during Thanksgiving Break complete a Thanksgiving Break Housing Registration Form by 12:00pm on November 14^th. This information is being collected for safety, security, and emergency response purposes during the break, as well as to ensure that those who will be staying on campus receive updated information regarding dining services and other break operations.

Required Trainings for First-Year Students

As a reminder to all new students who did not complete the required Opioid Awareness and/or the Sexual Misconduct Prevention trainings that were to be done before the start of the school year on your MyLearning- there will be a hold put on your SIS account after open enrollment for the Spring semester that will prevent you from changing, adding or dropping any class. Please finish these required trainings as soon as possible. You should have received an email informing you of the missing trainings, if you need further information.

Mandatory Flu Vaccination

Johns Hopkins University has required since 2020 that all JHU students, trainees, postdoctoral fellows, faculty, and staff who are on its campuses receive an annual influenza vaccine or obtain an approved medical or religious exception. That mandate is continuing through the 2022–23 academic year, and this year's deadline to upload proof of receiving the flu vaccine to the online Vaccine Management System (VMS) is this Friday, Nov. 18.

Blackboard Shutdown

Final Reminder! Blackboard at JHU is shutting down on 12/1/22. Last chance to preserve your old content! As a final reminder, Blackboard at JHU is shutting down on 12/1/22. There will be no access to Blackboard grades, course content, or student work after this time. Starting 12/1/22, the Blackboard system will no longer be available for use. For more information on how to download and preserve your content and academic work, visit the HUB article linked to from this announcement. If you need additional help, please contact Peabody's Learning Innovation team via the Service Desk.

Now Processing Refunds With Flywire

Previously selected direct deposit as your preferred refund method with BankMobile and would like to continue with direct deposit as your refund preference? You will need to establish an account with Flywire. Login to SIS Self-Service and click the “Billing” tab and then “Summary.” Then select “Set Up Direct Deposit." You will then be redirected to the Flywire refund platform. Prefer to receive your refund via check? Please verify your mailing address in SIS. To do this, click the "Personal Info" tab and then "Summary." If a refund is processed for you, but you haven't yet set up direct deposit with Flywire, you will receive an email notice. You will then have 24 hours to set up a direct deposit account before a paper check is mailed to your address on file. For further assistance, please contact the Office of Student Enrollment and Account Management (SEAM).
