🌟 What is Exercise Pestilence Storm?
Brace yourself for an immersive simulation exercise where public health meets crisis management! This one-of-a-kind event will challenge participants to:
• Investigate epidemiological threats: Put your knowledge to the test by applying epidemiological methods to real-world scenarios.
• Analyze policies: Explore the intersection of ethics, evidence, and politics in decision-making.
• Collaborate across disciplines: Work in interprofessional teams, navigating negotiation and problem-solving in high-pressure situations.
• Tackle climate change and health: Address extreme weather impacts and infectious disease outbreaks with innovative public health responses.

🌪️ The Scenario:
Hurricane Ember, a Category 3 storm, has struck Maryland. In its wake, communities face devastating floods and a sudden outbreak of a virus. Acting as members of county health departments, you’ll devise public health strategies, collaborate with neighboring jurisdictions, and navigate challenges from water contamination to vector control.
But that’s not all—30 days later, a mysterious encephalitis outbreak tests your team’s epidemiological expertise and decision-making under uncertainty.

💡 What’s in it for You?
• Hands-on Learning: Apply public health concepts that are hard to practice in the classroom.
• Networking Opportunities: Connect with experts and mentors in public health and emergency response.
• Gamified Elements: Compete in Public Health Trivia, Pictionary, and more!
• Exciting Prizes: Best State Response, Best Epidemiologist, and other awards await!
• Dinner and Panel Discussion: Engage with distinguished professionals during our networking session.
