Dabke is a traditional Arab/Lebanese dance form. At this event a volunteer Dabke teacher will lead a Dabke workshop and teach participants some basic Dabke steps to ARabic music. It's a great way to share Arab culture with both Arab and Non-Arab students at Hopkins in the middle of Arab American Heritage Month! A similar event was done at Nomunomu (an arts collaborative in Baltimore) where lots of enthusiastic Arab and Non-Arab student-age attendees participated in the workshop and it was hugely successful. The same teacher agreed to lead a similar workshop at Hopkins!
