About Us

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. is the first intercollegiate Greek-letter fraternity established for African American Men. We were founded on an ICE COLD Tuesday, December 4, 1906, at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY by seven dynamic and visionary college men. These men recognized the need for a strong bond of brotherhood among African descendants in this country, and made it their mission to spread chapters nationally and eventually, internationally.

Our Chapter

The Sigma Sigma Chapter was chartered on Wednesday, December 4, 1991, and since then, we have excelled at serving our communities and the society at large. In accordance with our national programs, we focus on providing proper voter education, mentoring of high school young men and safe sex education. We also lead initiatives to cater to immediate needs and bridge gaps in, but not restricted to, the black community at Hopkins.
