About Us

The Black Graduate Student Association is an academic and professional affinity-based organization. 1. Whose goal is to expand and promote resources that elevate the Black student experience at Carey. This includes but is not limited to: psychologically safe spaces, academic support, membership in professional organizations, etc. 2. Through the cultivation of community, the BGSA aims to create opportunities for: (1) networking with other Black Carey students and Black Carey Alumni through various events, (2) volunteering in the community, (3) building relationships with Black peers across the Hopkins community, and (4) connecting with employers interested in and passionate about promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion. 3. At its core, the BGSA is an organization that prioritizes the promotion of equity for Black students through improved diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging on Carey's campus
