The Career & Life Design (C&LD) team welcomes our new and returning Carey students to a new academic year! We are excited to partner with you on your career journey and want to highlight a few key resources to help you get started.

To support you in navigating internships, jobs, and career events, we’ve built Career Resources On Demand —a curated mix of guides and tools available on your Canvas Dashboard. One of the most popular starting points is the Navigating Handshake video, which walks you through step-by-step instructions and tips to make the most of this powerful platform.

In addition to Handshake, MBA students also have access to MBA-Exchange, an exclusive portal designed to connect you with opportunities targeted specifically for graduate-level business talent.
As one student shared:
💬 “The MBA-exclusive job postings made it easier to filter opportunities without sifting through entry-level roles.”
— FTMBA Student, Class of 2026

For those seeking experience on-campus, SMILE is JHU’s dedicated platform for part-time, paid on-campus jobs and internships. It’s a great way to gain professional experience while staying connected to the Carey community.

We look forward to supporting you throughout the year. Stay connected, stay curious, and let’s make this a year of growth and opportunity!
