The Johns Hopkins Disability Health Research Center (DHRC) is relaunching its bi-monthly virtual Open Meetings in January 2026. These one-hour sessions provide a space for students, staff, and faculty across Johns Hopkins to share disability-related research, build connections, and foster collaboration across the Hopkins community. The DHRC is also seeking presenters—JHU students, staff, or faculty—interested in sharing their work related to disability and health. HopStart is an annual competition for Johns Hopkins undergraduates, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows who are developing exciting startups. Receive mentorship through the process of crafting your business plan and pitch your startup to industry professionals for the chance to win up to $5,000 in prize money. HopStart provides an excellent opportunity to further your startup idea and get involved in the entrepreneurial ecosystem at Hopkins, no matter where you are in the process.

- MedicalNow: On-demand support for common health issues, including cold, flu, and allergies.
- TalkNow: 24/7, on-demand emotional support to talk about anything, including anxiety, relationships, depression, and school-related stressors.
- Scheduled Medical: Choose the day, time, and medical provider that best works for you.
- Scheduled Counseling: Choose the day, time, and mental health provider that works best for you. (12 visits per year)
- Psychiatry: Appointments are available through referrals in Primary Care and Mental Health Services.
- Self-Care Content: Visit the Self-Care tab for 24/7 access to tools and resources, such as meditation and yoga sessions, helpful videos, and short articles from experts.
MedicalNow and TalkNow services are like having urgent care from the comfort of your home (or phone) and without the co-pay. Venture Capital Investment Competition (VCIC) Regional Qualifier - Virtual Event!
What is VCIC? It's one of the world’s largest venture capital competitions with over 120 university and graduate school teams competing, starting at the regional level and ends with a global competition. VCIC is the only place where students get to be VCs for the day and startups get an immersion in the fundraising process. VCIC, at the internal, regional, and global levels is highly educational for those interested in the financial aspect of the startup world, whether your team places or not! The VCIC Regional Qualifier competition, for Carey students only, will take place virtually on Zoom on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 8:00 am - 3:30 pm. The winning team will move on to compete at the Regional VCIC event in Boston, MA, on January 30th. All teams must be current Carey students of 4-6 people. Six teams will be invited to participate in the qualifier competition. Prior to the competition, the invited teams will attend a virtual training as preparation for the event. This application will close on Sunday, November 9th at 5:00 pm ET.
