Student Organization Involvement:

Student Organization Snapshots & Announcements: 
  • Women in Business (WIB): The Women in Business Club at Carey Business School is dedicated to empowering female leaders by providing a supportive community for women pursuing business careers. This year we have plans in pipeline to hosts networking sessions with leaders, speaker sessions that address the unique challenges women face in the business world, our annual Stoop Storytelling event, and a Thorpewood retreat. Additionally, the club fosters an inclusive environment, encouraging both men and women to advocate for gender equality in the workplace.
    • WIB will be hosting elections within the club to ensure that leadership roles are filled with individuals who are passionate and committed to the club's mission. If you would like to contribute to the club and its growth, submit an application for the elections here. 
  • The Pride Business Association (PBA) at Carey Business School is dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment where LGBTQIA2S+ students can thrive. We aim to empower our community through networking opportunities, professional development, and supportive resources tailored to the unique challenges and aspirations of LGBTQIA2S+ individuals in the business world. By joining PBA, you will gain access to industry insights, connect with like-minded peers and professionals, and participate in events designed to enhance your career trajectory. Whether you are looking to broaden your professional network, seek mentorship, or find a supportive group of friends, PBA is here to help you succeed and make your mark in the business world.
  • Design for America (DFA) is a student-led organization focused on building a community of practice for human-centered design (HCD) principles at MICA. We run workshops, information sessions, and full-scale design projects throughout the school year, both independently and in partnership with other student orgs and departments. Whether you're new to human-centered design or a seasoned pro, we would love to see you at one of our events this year!

The Career & Life Design (C&LD) team welcomes our new and returning Carey students to this new academic year! We have many resources to support you, but here are a couple of highlights to start your year off effectively: 

  • We created Career Resources On Demand, which is a mix of curated and created resources to help in your career & life design journey. Find it in Handshake > Resources and in your Canvas Dashboard. 
  • Review the Navigating Handshake video in Career Resources on Demand for step-by-step instructions and tips for maximizing your use of Handshake in accessing internships, jobs, events, and resources. 
  • Each Friday, check your email for our Hot Jobs email, highlighting internship and job opportunities. 
  • SMILE is a JHU on-campus hiring platform where you can search and find part-time, paid on-campus internships & jobs.

The JHU Carey Business School seeks a dynamic Social Media Student Ambassador to represent the #JHUCarey voice on social media. The ambassador will be part of a team active on social media platforms and create authentic content, facilitate student conversations, and form connections that promote Carey in innovative and engaging ways. The ambassador will work closely with the Social Media Manager and Social Media Specialist in day-to-day operations, overall strategy, and expanding brand awareness tactics.

The ideal student ambassador will be well-versed in social media landscapes including LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X, and TikTok, and be able to follow trends, create engaging content, and build a community of Carey students.

Must include social media handles (with public profiles) and samples of content creation work (e.g., social media accounts, videos, blog posts, etc.).

The Transcendental Meditation® (TM) course teaches a simple, natural, and effortless meditation practice to be done twice each day while sitting comfortably with the eyes closed. Through the TM practice, students can reduce stress and anxiety, decrease the impacts of depression and trauma, improve sleep, and improve intelligence, creativity and your learning ability.

In order to participate students must attend a zoom information session and fill out the application. More extensive details about the program can be found both in the application and on the newly created JHU TM website.
