Every year Carey hosts an internal, regional-qualifier event to Carey students, of which the result is the winning team moves on to the VCIC regional event in Boston, MA in late January. VCIC is a unique competition that puts student teams in the role of VCs. Teams will view 2 startups pitches, go into due diligence session with both, and then work to create an investment term sheet for the startup they want to back. This term sheet is then presented to the VC judges and the team has to defend their decisions. The judges will score the due diligence sessions, the term sheet, and the final meeting with them to come up with total scores. The team with the highest scores wins. Six teams will be selected to participate in this internal event. A training workshop will be offered to these teams to set them up for max learning and success. All of this and more will be discussed at this info session.
