Celebrate Black History Month! Attend a guided tour of Amy Sherald: American Sublime Exhibit followed by an optional dinner.
American Sublime in Baltimore is more than an exhibition—it’s an occasion of civic pride and cultural affirmation. She captures larger-than-life portraits of Black Americans in everyday moments, many of which were painted in Baltimore and feature Baltimore-based models.

Sherald graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art, studying under the famed painter Grace Hartigan, and worked in Baltimore during her formative years. She says, “American Sublime is a salve. It’s a call to remember our shared humanity and an insistence on being seen.”

All JHU students are welcome to attend. Tour 1 begins at 5:30pm and Tour 2 will begin at 6pm.
Food Provided (Optional dinner will be provided at the Baltimore Museum of Art)
