Garba Night is a cultural event organized by the Indian Graduate Student Association to celebrate and share one of India’s most vibrant traditions. Garba is a folk dance from the state of Gujarat, performed in groups and circles, accompanied by rhythmic clapping and music. Traditionally, it is associated with the festival of Navratri, which honors the goddess Durga and symbolizes the triumph of good over evil. Beyond its religious roots, Garba has become a widely celebrated social and cultural activity, bringing people together in joy, unity, and community spirit. This event provides an opportunity for students of all backgrounds to learn about and participate in an important aspect of Indian culture while fostering inclusivity and cultural exchange.
