Topic: Racial and Gender Biases in AI/ML-Enabled Health Devices

The Convergence Series is an international seminar series exploring the intersection of health, biomedical engineering, and policy. Organized in partnership with students from EPFL, CentraleSupélec, UC3M, and UGent, this initiative brings together experts from academia, industry, and government to discuss how technological advancements and engineering innovations can inform policy decisions and legal frameworks to address global health challenges.

The first seminar will be hosted by Johns Hopkins University, with a fireside chat format, followed by an open Q&A session. To foster global participation, the event will be livestreamed for our partner institutions in Europe, ensuring an engaging exchange of ideas across borders. Each subsequent seminar will be hosted by a different institution, offering unique perspectives on topics such as medical technology regulation, equitable healthcare access, and the role of AI in medicine.
