The program will open with a presentation by the Brazil Capstone cohort, who will share original research findings from their recent fieldwork in Brazil. Drawing on firsthand interviews, polling data, and on-the-ground analysis, the team will examine how campaign strategies are evolving, with particular attention to the role of economic narratives, public security concerns, and voter perception in shaping electoral dynamics.
The discussion will then transition to an expert panel and audience Q&A, situating the election within Brazil’s broader political economy and regional context. The conversation will explore the persistence and evolution of Bolsonarismo, the fragmentation of political coalitions, and the extent to which Brazil reflects or diverges from global populist trends.
This event offers a unique opportunity to engage directly with field-based research and participate in a forward-looking discussion on one of the most consequential elections in the Western Hemisphere.
