Details

As Latin America enters a period of heightened political volatility and evolving security dynamics, governments across the region are confronting new pressures from organized crime, democratic polarization, migration flows, and intensifying geopolitical competition. This full-day forum will bring together policymakers, diplomats, analysts, and practitioners to assess how political transformation and security challenges are reshaping stability across the Western Hemisphere.

Panels will examine Venezuela’s post-Maduro trajectory, Washington’s evolving hemispheric strategy, the securitization of elections and public order across the region, and the intersection of organized crime and governance in Mexico.

Thursday, April 9
8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
SAIS Theater, Hopkins Bloomberg Center

The program will conclude with a reception following the final panel.
