The purpose of this event is to feature a documentary screening and panel discussion focusing on translating academic research into practical real-world material and solutions. The documentary screening emphasizes the mental health challenges faced by immigrant Latin American children. Following the screening, a discussion panel will be held which features two esteemed speakers: Oscar Guerra, an Emmy award-winning director and advocate for underrepresented groups, and Linda Bucay, a public health expert whose work inspired our documentary. Together, they will discuss practical applications of academic research in addressing real-world challenges. This event offers public health students and professionals a valuable opportunity to connect and discuss the translation of academic research into practical applications, effectively bridging the gap between scholarly work and impactful community action.

Confidentiality Agreement: Because this event includes a screening of a documentary that has not been released yet, no pictures or videos will be allowed. We thank you for your compliance.
