About the Trip: Robin Sage is the legendary capstone exercise for the U.S. Army Green Berets. Green Berets training is designed to assess the candidates' abilities to organize, train, and lead a guerilla force to overthrow a national government. Apply for the Robin Sage Exercise trip for a chance to observe Special Forces candidates as they complete this exercise. This experience will be an invaluable opportunity for SAIS students to observe how unconventional warfare plays out on the field—it is a rare "boots-on-the-ground" look at how high-level strategic directives are translated into operational maneuvers in a denied environment.

Logistics: Students will carpool in rental cars provided by SAIS and stay at Camp Mackall, NC, an active-duty military facility. Students will depart DC on Friday, April 3rd (afternoon) and return to DC on Sunday, April 5th (evening). Keep in mind that April 5th is Easter Sunday. More details will follow for those selected to participate.

Application Process: All SAIS years and degree programs are welcome to apply. The D&I Club and The Merrill Center will select 10 student participants, with a running waitlist. This application closes Friday, March 6th. Notification of results will come shortly after.
