SAIS Community Service Day: Garden Fair & Plant Sale Volunteering 🌱

Join SAIS for a Community Service Day in partnership with the Friends of the National Arboretum’s annual Garden Fair & Plant Sale—one of their largest events of the year and a key part of their mission to connect people with nature and inspire sustainable gardening.

We will be volunteering as a group supporting the event’s “plant sitting” station, where volunteers help manage purchased plants for attendees (think coat check, but for plants!). It’s a fun, fast-paced role that involves teamwork, interacting with visitors, and being part of a major community event celebrating Earth Day.

This is a great opportunity to give back to the DC community, connect with fellow SAIS students, and spend the day outdoors supporting a meaningful environmental initiative.

Please meet in the Breezeway of the Hopkins Bloomberg Center between 9:00–9:30 AM to pick up lunches and small snacks; volunteering will begin at 10:30 AM on site and end at 4:00PM, we will travel together by public transit.

Food is provided: SAIS will provide light morning snacks and boxed lunches.
