Restrepo is a powerful documentary film that follows a US infantry platoon for a year in Afghanistan during the height of the war. No film about America's recent wars better captures the close bonds between soldiers that keeps them fighting, and the deep pain of personal loss they feel when one of their own is lost.  With intense combat scenes interspersed with scenes of daily life on a remote outpost, this film is a must-see if you truly want to understand what we ask of our men and women in uniform when we send them to war.
