Director's Welcome

Welcome to the office of Women and Gender Resources!

As Director of WGR, I am encouraged every day by the creativity, innovation, passion, and the pursuit of gender equity that our students bring to this campus. While WGR serves all students, we are excited to center the experiences of our women students by providing events, trainings, community-building, and funding toward their academic, personal, and professional development. As this office continues to grow and thrive, it welcomes new ideas and diverse perspectives that add to the vision of gender equity and women's empowerment.

Please use this page to find out how we can support you and help create community here at Hopkins. Always rooting for you.

Signature Programs

Women’s Leadership Symposium

The Women’s Leadership Symposium was created to provide support, inspiration, and solidarity for young women looking to become leaders in their fields. Attendees will gain skills and techniques for leadership, an understanding of diverse leadership styles, and the opportunity to network with female professionals and their own peers.

Voices of Color

Voices of Color is an annual event that aims to create a space on the Johns Hopkins campus for all cis and trans women of color, as well as non-binary people of color who are comfortable in a space that centers the experiences of women. To do so, the group encourages engaging conversations through social and civic engagement by designing events related to an overarching theme for the year. This is done in partnership with clubs and organizations on the university campus and in the greater Baltimore community.

The Masculinity Project

The Masculinity project seeks to promote dialogue about topics and issues concerning masculinity, its impact on various cultures, and its role on college campuses. Programs and events have included student-led workshops, faculty and staff panels, film screenings and invited guest speakers.

Salary Negotiation Workshop for Women

This annual workshop discusses the reality of the wage gap for women in the workplace, particularly after college graduation, and offers women students the tools necessary to learn how to negotiate, assert their voice, and take risks for the salary they deserve.
