About the event
Hosted by Johns Hopkins Graduate Consulting Club (JHGCC) and AI Student Club (AIC) at Johns Hopkins Carey Business School
Step into a high‑impact challenge at the intersection of AI, business, and healthcare. This graduate-level, hackathon-style case competition invites Johns Hopkins students to tackle a real-world problem inspired by Cancer AI Alliance (CAIA). The Cancer AI Alliance (CAIA) is led by 4 comprehensive cancer centers (including JHU). CAIA is dedicated to accelerating the fight against cancer through responsible and privacy-preserving AI development. In October, CAIA's cancer centers launched a federated learning platform to accelerate the pace of cancer discovery. CAIA receives financial and technical support from technology industry leaders Amazon Web Services (AWS), Deloitte, Ai2 (Allen Institute for AI), Google, Microsoft, NVIDIA and Slalom.
Student teams will apply strategic thinking, domain knowledge in health and AI, and effective interdisciplinary teamwork. Selected teams will advance to the finals at Carey Business School, where they will present their solutions to judges across AI and business.
To succeed, we encourage participants to form teams that blend diverse skillsets—from business and public health to data science, AI, medicine, and beyond—to bring forward innovative, well-rounded approaches to this complex and meaningful challenge.
