We’re excited to kick off Black History Month with a lineup of meaningful and engaging events hosted by the Black Graduate Student Association (BGSA). Let’s come together to honor this important month and celebrate Black culture, history, and resilience.
1. Carey Day at the National Museum of African American History & Culture

Join the Black Graduate Student Association (BGSA), Staff and Faculty Association (BFSA), and Alumni Network (BAN) for their first combined event at the National Museum of African American History and Culture. 2. First Tuesday Happy Hour

3. First Thursday Happy Hour

📍 Location: Carey HE Baltimore Campus
Join us at the Baltimore Campus for an evening of networking and camaraderie.
4. BGSA-ABC Personal Finance Summit

📍 Location: Carey HE Baltimore Campus
Theme: Empowering Financial Literacy in the Black Graduate Community
This interactive summit will feature a keynote speaker, panel discussions, and a networking marketplace with African-themed products, BGSA, and ABC-branded merchandise. Topics include:
- Managing student loans effectively
- Investment strategies for graduates
- Budgeting and saving for short- and long-term goals
