As a member of a student local section, you have the opportunity to gain insight, increase your knowledge, and establish connections with other IH / OEHS (occupational and environmental health and safety) students and seasoned professionals on a global-wide basis.

• Become an active part of a global community that will sustain long after college.
• Make connections with IH/OEHS experts world-wide with Catalyst, the NEW members-only online community.
• Deepen your knowledge and advance your education through Local Sections (Chesapeake and Potomac) and AIHA National members only content and resources for education including AIHce Connect, IOHA; Future Leaders Institute; e-learning, road courses and training.
• Undertake leadership development, serve in key leadership roles and become active via volunteer committees and opportunities, including macro, virtual and micro-volunteering.
• Make a difference by taking an active role via the AIHA public policies, through advocacy and government relations or serving on the ACTIONS Committee.
• Apply for tuition assistance via the AIH Foundation scholarship program or qualify for an AIHce student sponsorship which includes flight, accommodations and full registration.
• Industry/Profession-wide recognition via awards ($1,000 annually), student poster presentations, and the "IAmIH" Leadership Challenge.

The Johns Hopkins Integrative Medicine Society is a community of students, researchers, faculty, and affiliated community members who wish to explore Integrative Medicine (IM). Integrative Medicine covers complementary and alternative medicine - such as Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Traditional Korean Medicine (TKM), and Ayurveda - as well as Aromatherapy, Music and Art Therapy, etc. Our mission is to encourage the bright minds of Johns Hopkins University to research, discuss and understand IM.

LEM seeks to make the Latinx Pre-Health Honor Society a learning organization where pre-health students become stronger in their unity and qualifications. We seek highly motivated and inspired students who will one day become the great health professionals of tomorrow. We encourage pre-health students that have the desire to pursue clinical and scientific research to pursue their passions. Additionally, we strive to serve the often overlooked Latino population in Baltimore.

SNMA MAPS is the Johns Hopkins UniversityÔÇÖs Minority Association for Pre-Medical Students (MAPS) chapter. MAPS is the undergraduate chapter of the Student National Medical Association (SNMA). SNMA MAPS seeks to provide community service, networking and other health-related opportunities for pre-health students underrepresented in medicine. The organization serves as a resource for information on pre-health advising and admission into professional schools. We are determined to increase exposure of minority pre-health students to health-related graduate institutions, professions and the medical field.

Membership Benefits
The membership benefits of being part of SNMA MAPS include resources to further your academic and professional career. This includes research opportunities, research grants, summer opportunities, volunteering opportunities, and more. Continually, we work to fully fund our students to attend the Annual Medical Education Conference (AMEC) and the Regional Medical Education Conference (RMEC). Our members get exposure to professionals in the health field through our various panels as well as gain networking skills. We try to host a variety of events to help our members experience what medical school will really be like, from anatomy lab tours to medical simulations. Lastly, we work closely with the medical students at Johns Hopkins Medicine to provide our members with the opportunity to gain mentorship, advice and knowledge from someone who has successfully been through the medical school process.
