Mission
ABC Health is a student-led initiative that aims to advocate for the health needs of the underserved members of the surrounding Baltimore community. We assist clinics and aid groups in their mission to deliver accessible and good quality healthcare to underinsured and uninsured patients in the community.

Among other activities, we participate in monthly trips to the local farmer's market, in which members assemble pertinent health information, preventative care tips, and free resources like brochures and present them to the community. On top of that, our members volunteer at clinics that offer free or reduced services to patients who are uninsured or underinsured. Finally, we engage in community service that aims to aid those in need throughout the Baltimore community.

Members have to opportunity to venture outside the classroom and into the Baltimore community to do meaningful volunteer work with a group of students who are all passionate about community health. Members receive information about clinical/shadowing experiences near Hopkins and also have access to leadership opportunities within the club.

To fight reproductive healthcare barriers on campus and in Baltimore and engage in the movement of actively shaping a world where full access to reproductive health care is a global lived reality for all, regardless of gender, race, or sexual orientation. ARSH supports full access to comprehensive reproductive and complementary health care services in settings that preserve and protect the essential privacy and rights of each individual; advocates public policies that guarantee these rights and ensure access to such services; and supports access to medically accurate educational programs that enhance understanding of human sexuality.

Mission
The Alpha Phi Omega, Kappa Mu Chapter has been striving for excellent service since its 1998 rechartering at Johns Hopkins University. Kappa MuÔÇÖs impact in Baltimore is astounding; collectively, we perform over 5000 hours of community service per semester. Our service is spread out over various types of projects including helping out at soup kitchens, repairing homes, and teaching English to the Spanish-speaking community.



While service is an integral part of Alpha Phi Omega, we also encourage friendship among the chapter and leadership attained through internal and external activities. As such, in addition to performing community service, our Brothers attend many fellowship events and seek leadership both on campus and in the greater community.

Mission
The American Mock World Health Organization chapter at Johns Hopkins University leads annual simulation conferences where delegates are invited to assume the roles of global leaders in addressing todayÔÇÖs most pertinent global health issues. We provide opportunities for students to develop leadership abilities, sharpen public speaking skills, understand real-world policy applications through the lens of their respective roles. The chapter also recruits for and attends the National AMWHO conference as a delegation.

AMWHO is modeled after the Ontario and Montreal World Health Organization conferences set in Canada, and the primary focus of all three is to raise student awareness of pertinent health issues facing the world today, as well as to promote understanding of the many roles students can engage in through global health policy. The conference hopes to establish an environment similar to that of the World Health OrganizationÔÇÖs Assembly, and educate future global health leaders in the proceedings of international health entities. Furthermore, AMWHO aims to nurture an interest in global health and health policy that is often neglected in a standard health education curriculum. Students will receive the opportunity to sharpen their diplomacy skills, as well as increase their ability to engage in problem solving, conflict resolution, and communication skills.

The American Red Cross JHU chapter is an active volunteer organization that works under the broader American Red Cross Central Maryland Chapter and the Center for Social Concern at the Johns Hopkins University. We aim to extend the services of the American Red Cross on our campus and in the local community by providing regular blood drives, disaster action services, CPR and First AID classes, and domestic and international relief awareness. We also organize community service events in the Baltimore community and take part in the Red Cross's Homefire Campaign and Vaccinate a Village initative.

Art therapy is a growing field which involves creative outlets for personal and emotional support. It's an evidence-based therapy practice that focuses on improving well-being and emotional health through expressive arts projects. There have been countless studies proving the benefits of expressive arts and art therapy in many populations and we're excited to share art activities with a wide range of people in the Baltimore community. With the unique opportunity of partnering with the Johns Hopkins Hospital, Kennedy Krieger Institute, Ronald McDonald House, Keswick Assisted Living Center, Gilchrist Center Baltimore, Huntington's Disease Center, Best Buddies, and Karina Cafe, Believe in Art focuses on serving the community through art therapy to alleviate levels of pain and anxiety and provide emotional care. Members are closely involved with patients and family members by facilitating arts and crafts projects. Service trips occur weekly, biweekly, or monthly depending on the community partner. The service opportunities expose our volunteers to various levels of patient contact, as well as provide experience in both the medical and artistic fields. Another facet of the club works with spreading awareness of art therapy within the Hopkins community through arts events, club collaborations, and on-campus events. Everyone can benefit from art therapy, whether it's patients at the Hospital, people with disabilities, our volunteers, or undergraduates on campus.

The Doctors Without Borders Student Chapter at JHU is dedicated to providing service to the community through opportunities for advocacy, event creation, fundraising, volunteering, engineering, and technology projects for our members. We strive to forge ongoing partnerships with clubs on campus and organizations in Baltimore and beyond to serve others and create a better future.

Our parent organization, Doctors without Borders (also known by their French name Medecins Sans Frontieres), was founded in France in 1971, and is a humanitarian organization operating on the belief that all people should have access to basic medicine and healthcare. MSF provides healthcare in response to disasters both natural and human-made. They leverage the power of everything from computer science to basic sanitation engineering to help combat health epidemics.

Mission
Global Medical Brigades is a program of Global Brigades, Inc., the worlds' largest student-led global health and sustainable development organization. By utilizing our unique holistic model, we mobilize student volunteers and professionals to empower under-resourced communities in developing countries , as well as in our home communities via secular programs that improve communities' quality of life while respecting local culture and supporting an eventual transition to self-sustainability. Global Medical Brigades does not support paternalism or voluntourism.

Membership Benefits
Members will be able to travel on annual medical brigades to Honduras or Belize to conduct mobile clinics and health workshops in communities that typically lack doctors in a twenty-mile radius. During this time, they will have the opportunity to shadow physicians and assist with in-take, triage, medication packing, and health education while interacting with community members (50 contact hours). Members will also be able to help organize on-campus speaker sessions that raise awareness about global health inequities and international perspectives on medical issues and sustainable health.

Please note that it is not necessary to be fluent in Spanish to participate in a brigade. We will have translators available with us at all times, and we will also teach members useful Medical Spanish phrases prior to the brigade.

Despite medicine's impact in our lives and the world, there has been little attempt to help break the barriers between doctors and researchers and those who are affected by medicine on a daily basis. The Hippocrates Med Review is a medical journal that aims to humanize medicine to make it accessible to those who need the information the most: the patient.

Additionally, in recent years, the term "medicine" has been broadened to encompass more than just physical health; mental and economic health, through the lens of medicine, are increasingly important to a patient's quality of life. By placing an emphasis on domestic health, global health, biotechnology, medical humanities, and clinical medicine, we hope to spread the idea of new medicine, which looks at medicine further than what happens in a physician's room.

The Hippocrates Med Review aims to improve population health by tackling the information gap between patient and providers, train the next generation of caregivers to challenge their approach on the patient-provider relationship to make it more patient-centered, and empower the public to fight for their healthcare rights with increased health literacy.

It is our mission as Hop Help Tutoring to provide academic support and act as exemplary role models to the students of Waverly Elementary School so that they are inspired to pursue learning. We tutor students from third to fifth grade three times a week during their after-school program with math and reading homework, while encouraging them to have fun. We work hard to ensure that tutor-student pairs are kept constant throughout the semester so that a strong rapport is built between the Hopkins and Waverly students. As the school is conveniently located around 10 minutes by foot from Barnes and Nobles, our members often build lasting connections as we travel back and forth every week. We work closely with the staff at The Y of Waverly to ensure the program runs smoothly and to the benefit of the students.

We, the board of Hopkins Asian Medicine (HAM) Student Club, envision an integrative medicinal future that incorporates elements from both conventional and traditional Asian medical knowledge.

Membership Benefits
The HAMSC community can learn the development and practices of traditional Asian medicine, and talk with experts through our Guest Speaker events. We initiate and support several projects to explore various aspects of Traditional Asian Medicine. Members can freely propose and implement ideas, acquire more experience in leading/executing projects, and in best case scenarios, generate noteworthy output as a presentation or even a paper. Members can directly meet and communicate and with experts of fields of Asian medicine through local experts in the field. We facilitate and nurture interest in various topics of Asian medicine across the humanities, STEM, and public health. Hopkins Community Connection collaborates with communities to challenge systemic barriers to health equity by training a diverse workforce of individuals who champion a more just system through an innovative and patient-centered approach to addressing social determinants of health in the healthcare setting.

Hopkins Community Connection is a student organization designed to address essential needs of patients through universal social needs screenings and navigation to community resources and benefit programs. Our organization partners with JHMI and staffs Family Resource Desks at the Harriet Lane Clinic, Comprehensive Care Practice, Bayview Children's Medical Practice, Johns Hopkins Outpatient Center, and the East Baltimore Medical Center to address the social determinants of health. Student advocates assist Baltimore families to access essential resources such as food, housing, heat and electricity in order to be healthy. Volunteer advocates then follow up with their clients, on a weekly basis, to ensure they get the appropriate resources to address their needs. By learning about the health care system, addressing psychosocial needs, and making lasting bonds with Baltimore families, HCC volunteers will become the nation's next great health care leaders.

HERO is a professional EMS organization that operates on the Johns Hopkins Homewood Campus with the support of Lifeline's Critical Care Team, Johns Hopkins Security, and the Student Health & Wellness Center. As a 24/7 rapid response service, HERO provides BLS level care on over 300 calls each year. HERO has approximately 50 active members, each with at a least a Maryland EMT-B certification involving 200 hours of classroom learning and over 100 training hours.

The Johns Hopkins University Chapter of the Kidney Disease Screening and Awareness
Program (KDSAP) strives to provide students with the opportunity to participate in community
outreach events, promote awareness of kidney-related diseases, and increase interests in
nephrology careers among its members. JHU KDSAP also offers speaker series and programs
to expose its members to medical and scientific professions while building relationships with
mentors. Through this, the organization targets undergraduate students to gain leadership and
management skills as well as an early exposure to the lacking nephrology workforce. The goal
of JHU KDSAP is to essentially improve the health and lifestyle of under-served communities
while developing important skills and fostering interests in medicine among its members.

NAB aims to address the social isolation experienced by Alzheimer's through forming student-patient relationships. By pairing student volunteers 1-to-1 with dementia residents we not only hope to make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents and their families but also to develop a stronger understanding of their personal identity, build new social skills, and make new friends.
At Hopkins, we want to leverage Hopkins clinical and public health expertise to educate and spread awareness about inequalities surrounding AD. Our group invites guest speakers from the Johns Hopkins Hospital and School of Public Health who share their clinical and academic insights. Within NAB, there will be monthly journal clubs to discuss racial disparities encompassing AD to further educate ourselves on social and racial injustices.
