The HOP Elected Positions

President

  • PRESIDENT(1) The President serves to oversee The HOP's Executive Board. The President will work closely with the Assistant Director of LEED and perform as The HOP's primary representative for the campus. (2) The President shall oversee the Executive Board and General Members (a) The President shall conduct and preside over the HOP General Meeting and Executive Board meeting every week. Additional meetings may be called if necessary. (3) The President is responsible for the overall function and operation of the HOP. (4) The President serves as representative of the HOP as needed (SGA meetings, University Administration meetings, formal recruitment events, etc.) (5) The President is responsible for facilitating the calendar planning process each semester. (6) The President will work with the Vice President to review attendee interest applications for the National Association of Campus Activities (NACA) Regional Conference and National Conferences. (7) The President will act as a mediator if an issue or problem arises. (8) The President may relinquish their powers and duties to the Vice President during absence or inability to fulfill their responsibilities. A letter in writing, giving the reason for absence, must be given to the advisor a week before the President's absence unless an emergency prohibits it. (4) The Vice President shall hold weekly Committee Chair meetings (5) The Vice President shall preside over any constitutional amendment processes. (6) The Vice President will work with the president to plan, recruit students, and attend the National Association of Campus Activities (NACA) Regional and National Conferences. (7) The Vice President shall be responsible for fulfilling all duties of the President in their absence. (8) The Vice President may also complete other duties as assigned by the President.
