Set in the fictional world of Affreakah Amirrorkah, four teenage girls struggle with societal definitions of beauty. Dunbar Baldwin Hughes Theater Company beautifully executes this interpretation of a Nigerian folktale, seamlessly merging contemporary Black American and traditional West African culture. Join us for a show full of laughter, drama, and self reflection that encourages audiences to ask the question, "Why are we so willing to pay the price of beauty?"
