Our Inspiration

The inspiration behind an APIDA fashion show is to seek an understanding between the relationship between fashion and identity (culturally and beyond), in which what you wear intersects with your past, present, and future.

Our Goals

APIDA students of all backgrounds showcase their traditional (or modern) garments that are often worn during cultural celebrations, holidays, performances, and beyond. Examples include but are not limited to cheongsam, hanbok, sari, salwar kameez, ao dai, etc.

Showcase

To showcase the changes from tradition to modern fashion within the APIDA community and personal connection between fashion and members of our community.

Awareness

To showcase the diversity of cultural groups that make up the representation of the APIDA community and bring awareness to lesser known culture.
