Excellence in Academic Advising

Johns Hopkins University was one of the first institutions to participate in the Excellence in Academic Advising (EAA) project, working to improve academic advising practices across the university. We are in phase 2 of the project, and actively working to improve how students understand their program, access resources, and get more from advising.

NACADA: The Global Community for Academic Advising is the leading association globally for the advancement of student success through excellence in academic advising in higher education.

KSAS Academic Advising uses and supports the four Pillars of Academic Advising, endorsed by the NACADA Board of Directors, in our daily practice.

TJ and Wiona received the Best of NACADA Region 2 Presentation Award in 2021. With this Award they received an automatic bid to the NACADA Annual Conference and were awarded free registration.

Their presentation was titled: Navigating Burnout in Academic Advising Through Mindfulness

Dr. Kathleen Sindt

Kathie was selected for the NACADA Race, Ethnicity, and Inclusion Work Group for NACADA.

he helped create the inaugural Inclusive Excellence in Leadership Training.

Wiona received the Outstanding Advisor of Merit for NACADA Region 2.
