Dain Choi

President of L-CAP

Representative Officer of Iota Alpha Chapter - Delta Alpha Pi (DAPi) Honor Society

“Promoting health equity and improving healthcare in marginalized communities have always been passions of mine. This notion of fairness aligns well with L-Cap's values and ensures every student has a level playing field to further their academic growth. It is a privilege to take on the role of president to ensure all students get the assistance they need to succeed in Nursing"

Amanda Clayton

Vice-President of L-CAP

President of Iota Alpha Chapter - Delta Alpha Pi (DAPi)              Honor Society

"L-CAP is an organization I wanted to be a part of to support students with disabilities and make sure that they are seen, advocated for and accepted here at JHSON. The nursing profession and nursing school can be physically, mentally and emotionally challenging for anyone involved, but that is even greater for those students also working with a disability. I joined L-CAP to be a part of making the SON more inclusive to these students and to encourage more students to be allies."

Mary Beth Hurley

Member & Finance Officer

Treasurer of Iota Alpha Chapter - Delta Alpha Pi (DAPi)            Honor Society

“I choose L-CAP because I want to make a difference in the lives of students at SON and want them to feel supported throughout their journey through nursing school. As someone who has dealt with and continues to deal with various disabilities, this organization means a lot to me. I used to think disability was just physical but it is also mental and often times there are bad stereotypes surrounding disability. I want to break these stereotypes and help individuals understand their disability is part of them but doesn't define them. I am honored to be in this role and be part of something that impacts the nursing community in a way that allows healthcare providers to learn where people are at in their health journey. I am excited to see what L-CAP has to hold for the future and be part of the organization.”

Gabrielle Cadoux

Communications and Outreach Officer

Secretary of Iota Alpha Chapter - Delta Alpha Pi (DAPi)              Honor Society

“Having the opportunity to serve my peers through an organization such as L-CAP has always been a dream of mine. Student Disability Services have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Individuals with disabilities are often unaware of the resources that are available to them. As I have been in the game for some time, I have a well-working knowledge of how the system works. I want to guide others who are new to SDS or need aid in the process; accommodations are essential to certain individuals’ learning processes, and I am here to help guide you through that process. It brings me much joy to serve the JHUSON community, and to promote inclusivity to all. This team is here to aid our fellow JHUSON peers in navigating accommodations and giving them all the support that they need throughout the process. We are all different, and in the very best of ways. I want all students to feel welcome, know that we are here to help, and to have confidence in the organization as we have confidence in our community.”
