About Us
Founded in France in 1971, Doctors without Borders (also known by their French name Medecins Sans Frontieres) gives medical and humanitarian aid across the globe to those who need it most, irrespective of race, gender, religion, or political affiliation. MSF provides healthcare in response to disasters, both natural and human-made. MSF also frequently draws public and international attention to forgotten crises. Friends of MSF at JHU is a student chapter of Doctors Without Borders USA. Our goals are: To engage students in volunteer service, Encourage students to work with MSF and similar NGOs upon graduation, And support MSF through advocacy, events, fundraising, and volunteering.
